    Hey friends,

I’m considering swapping my infotainment system out of my ‘18 to one with Apple CarPlay. What I’m curious about is if I’ll lose access to info like trip data or vehicle settings, etc.

I’ve never done this in a previous vehicle so I’m clueless.

Same question. 2017, and I have just the base electronics. Want to just swap to the entune, or higher package with nav would be cool. But, whats entailed? I imagine they lay the wiring and sensors in advance for ease of production. But maybe not all.

Pioneer (and otehr units) that integrate with the iMaestro retain everything and have controls on the head unit for them like factory (menus are different)... only thing you lose is the compass in the cluster display - but if you have CarPlay - you get that in Apple Maps or other mapping programs... and still on your mirror if you have that now.

Install is easy, iMaestro setup is simple, and if yo buy all the adapters you reuse all the stock harness for everything. It's kinda a no brainier TBH - the stock unit is trash.

You can spend a lot more on "stuff" on the outside of the truck you will never se or use once every 3 months off road... the head unit is something you interface with every - single - time - you drive the truck.

I'm seeing a lot of supply issues, and the factory units don't attract stereo thieves. Thought I could pick up something for 100 bucks.
But I do agree on features.

Don't be afraid of factory refurbished units. I bought one that carries the same warranty as new. You can retain most of the factory features but the in dash compass is lost, the mirror one still works. You will lose the factory mic unless you build an adapter.
