My 2009 Tacoma rear shock post broke off inside the extension. I bought new aftermarket standard shocks but the thread diameter is smaller than the previous shocks, so the extensions won't work. What I want to know is if I can still install without the extensions and what would the effects be/is it going to be fine? I know it will ride a little stiffer and thats fine, but im in a pinch and need transportation until i get the new parts. Thanks

also, im not positive because the shock fell apart, but it looks to be a couple inches shorter. I cant find any specs on the stock shock. but the new ones are 22"
