I made an account just to post this question because I haven't seen it posted anywhere and there are no guides on YouTube.

Does anyone know how to get to and replace the stock microphone in the 3rd gen Tacomas? I am asking because I am looking at replacing my crappy Entune HU with an aftermarket one with CarPlay (don't know which one yet) but I have read that you can't use the stock microphone with them. I am wondering if there is anyway to open the area where the stock microphone is and replacing it with the aftermarket one in the same location. I really don't want to have an aftermarket mic stuck to my dash or clipped to my visor.

Honestly, I'm not sure yet. I just wanted to know how to replace the stock mic with an aftermarket one in the same location. And is Kyleinator selling the adaptors now? I thought it would be a while before that happened.

We’re you able to mount the new mic in the same location as the old one? If so, how difficult is it to remove the upper console to get to the stock mic?
