How does it hold up to vibrations when you go offroad and camping?

Haven’t been offroading with it yet but it seems to hold up fine going over speed bumps.

I replaced everything in my truck when it had 2500 miles on it. Being an audiophile, the factory stereo drove me nuts.

I put far more miles per year on my motorcycle than my truck so with as little time as I really spend in the truck it wouldn't be worth it to me. I did change out the speakers and put the Subie/Kicker tweeters in and found that was enough improvement for my aging hearing. I've had my Tacoma for 13 months so far and still haven't put 5k miles on it.

Won't quote all the posts, but I've been through a few aftermarket headunits in this truck. As far as functionality is concerned, the Android units are really good. There's a little fiddling to get everything working because of the language barrier. When mine was working it was great. And updates were frequent. The problems I had with them (yes, them) were this: reliability (I lost two in a year), and updates would sometimes not be so good for the unit. As in, border-line bricking. Some of the updates were great and added more functionality. So they can be hit or miss.

Right now, I'm running a Kenwood DMX1037S, which is real similar to the 1057S. From what I can tell is mine has a shorter warranty, a little less sound adjustability, and the pre-outs for the 1057S are a little better. Last I checked the were the same price. I went with the 1037s because of availability and realizing I didn't need all the tweaking. I absolutely love this headunit. It's as close to perfect as I've ever come. I have a few very small quibbles, but it's stuff I've seen in other makes, so I don't fret. There is one thing that is irritating me recently on it, but I believe this is the app and not the headunit. Netflix video won't show when doing mirroring. A few other video apps may be the same way. YouTube does work though. There's a workaround with the purchase of an MHL cable. It works, but there's some annoyances with it. Another issue that crept up (likely a phone thing) was that in mirroring with my previous cell phone I could operate the phone from the headunit. With my new phone, it's not possible.

I replaced mine also. 2 weeks into owning truck. stock is crap! LOL. Have Kenwood DMX706s, love it. Would rather have Android unit to work better with my Android phone, but don't like the non use of existing antennae (sirius and gps). And everything has to be done over a cell connection.

You can use the existing GPS antenna on the Android units. Just need an adapter. Only reason there's no Sirius antenna is because it doesn't support it. I just used the Sirius app. It's actually a little better that way because there are additional channels. Of course, if you don't have cell signal you lose it.

If I could just find one that can keep my personal and work phones bluetoothed and not drop important work calls 60% of the time, while retaining my anytime camera mods, I'd be all for changing. So tired of dropping work calls..

I feel ya. When that happens I'm glad I have tons of music saved to my phone. No connection needed.
