Replacing Tie Rods

    They quoted you over $700 to remove outer tie rods?!?! If you purchased an entire new steering rack it would not be that much. You could get a new one, that includes inner tie rods, and put new outer tie rods on for maybe half that. So even if those outer rods were so froze up even God himself could not lose them, pffft, you could cut off the old and put in new. But you don't need to.

    Frozen in the knuckle or on the steering rack? If steering: Use PB blaster. Soak them a lot for awhile. Tap around the connector to cause vibrations and allow a little to trickle in the threads. Then spray more PB blaster. Then get two good wrenches and go to town. Put a pipe over the end of each if you want to increase the fulcrum and max your torque. You will get them lose.

    My friend Actually just reccomended doing the same thing. Im gonna soak it for the next 2 or 3 days then see if i can mess around with it. They were charging 200$ for labor which seems hilarious if this OP did it in 50 minutes his first time.

    if you have a welder you can take the inner tie rods off with an impact real easy..
