I recently read that Subaru is cancelling Manuals across the board next year...

Personally I think you’re smoking crack. I’ve had several Subaru’s and Toyota’s, there is no comparison for fit and finish, Toyota is way superior. Just about to get shot of my last Subaru as it’s falling apart around the drive train. Old Subaru’s are one thing, but the current lineup has gone the way of Mercadies in the 90s or BMW in 2000s, it’s simply cheap shit. No doubt they will get better again but at the moment no way I’d recommend one.

Time will tell. Over 300 miles on the new engine so far without losing a drop of oil. I test drove the made in Turkey Toyota CH-R, the made in Mexico Honda HR-V and the Nissan Rogue Sport.

The Toyota and Honda didn't even come close to the Crosstrek.

I had an EJ205 subi that didn't burn a DROP of oil. I had some other issues with it but they were expected for a 10 y/o upstate NY car and nothing with the engine.

My Saturn (GM) on the other hand.... I would only change the oil filter b/c I was putting a quart in every 1k miles.

I heard that to. Rumor was going around that 2017 was the last year for manuals. They ended up keeping the manual for 2018 and upgrading it from a five speed to a six speed.

we had a 2016 outback.. very nice car.. we bought a travel trailer and had to buy something that could tow more and thats how we ended up with this shitbox tacoma.. i'd buy another outback in a heartbeat.. i'd go v6 this time though. not that the 4 was under powered but the mpg difference enough not to..:) great car though.. fit and finish was great. never had any problems with the car either..

only thing i hated about it was the black paint.. never again.. holy crap i couln't keep that bitch clean at all..

much love for Subaru - i had an 2002 WRX wagon and a 2004 STi.

the STi was 600whp before it was all said an done, so much fun to drive.

I acquired a jpmorgan chase loan last week. For my trouble they gave me a Legacy 2.5 limited. I was considering a Outback but with fewer sedans being offered from manufactures across the that's what I went with. Now I can keep my reg cab off the salty road.

All current vehicles appear to be cheap shit to me. That's one reason I shyed away from a new Tacoma. That and I want a 4cyl with a e locker.

I thought what I read said they can't adapt Manuals to their version of Toyota's Safety Sense stuff.

My wife has a forester 2.5 premium. We love it. It does all the duties that her 4runner did, including hauling some nice river stones from our house in the mountains when I didn't have my truck up there. It is super comfy, soaks up bumps and handles beautifully. Fit and finish is excellent. Dealerships are also very nice to work with when I take it in for service.

Honestly, I've been nothing but impressed with the car and the brand. I always seem to find at least something wrong with vehicles but this one hasn't let me down yet.

I love me a manual, but that CVT in our 2017 forester is a nice transmission.

Yea, they say it is a safety thing. A manual can't have all the computer nannies an auto can

The CVT is the bomb ! on my Legacy 2015 3.6R. You push it to peak torque and let it rip, same goes with the turbo fozzy put it at peak boost and let it roll ! People probably dont know how to operate a CVT

They say (Motor Trend) Subies have the best CVTs in the biz. Apparently they put alot of R and D into them and making them act like regular Autos. Confident enough to put it in their Wrx impfezas anyways.
