Current shouldn't pass if ignition switch is off...so hopefully your new one will help.

    Batt---???????--fuse1--X----------stuff
    Batt---????????---------X---fuse2---gauges

Something like this. The wires are connected together at the X.

Don't know if those circuits are turned on by the ign switch or the ECM.

You might also try unplugging the ECM. Maybe the connection is somehow inside the ECM.

OP, since no one did it, I went ahead and tried turning the key to ON
    with and without fuse #1.

I honesty didn't think anything would happen... I was wrong, kinda interesting...

Pic #1 fuse in, Pic#2 dashlights with fuse in, pic #3 fuse out, Pic #4 dashlights without the fuse key turned to ON.

Now... I didn't. Try to start it, but here is the interesting part.

Without the fuse in, when the key is turned to ON, the starter CLICKS twice????

With the fuse in, no clicks????

Also, just FYI, my truck came with 2 normal keys and one grey valet, key. Since day one, I used one of the normal keys everyday. Only used the spare or valet keys if I dropped it off for service or well... Left it with a valet.

The key I use everyday has worn down. I can pull it out with the ignition in any position. (actually comes in handy when I want to leave truck running to run inside the house real quick and grab something)

The spare key and valet key, I can not take out unless it's in off position.

Hey All - just wanted to update everyone on the status of the truck. It spent the last 3 weeks at the dealership where they spent a lot of time chasing wires and testing components. Turns out the previous owner/whoever repaired the truck had spliced 2 wires under the driver seat together! One of which was a hot wire from the battery and the other to my gauges? The service guy did not really go into as much detail on this as I would have liked (Pretty sure they hate me for calling every other day for an update and calling dumb conclusions they took). Nonetheless, the truck is back in my driveway and running great! Most expensive wire splice I've ever had to pay for. It also goes without saying - if you're going to fix something do it right :bananadead:

Also wanted to thank everyone for the help and support on this! I had a few people sending me wiring diagrams and additional information that helped my whole process along.
