    Dear Everybody,

How is everybody doing? I know this is not the ideal place to post this thread, but this is a very active section of Tacoma World so I am going to post it here, and see what happens with the results.

My family is getting ready to repower our beloved 1984 Boston Whaler Classic Sport 15. We are deciding which outboard to install on it between the Evinrude ETEC 60, Honda BF 60, Yamaha F70, Suzuki 60 or Mercury 60. Which direction does Tacoma World think we should go, and briefly explain why we should go down that direction? The maximum rated horsepower for our old Whaler is 70 so the transom can safely take about 260 pounds of weight back there.

I will let everybody know which outboard I am partial to installing at a later thread.

Thanks in advance for all of your input.

    Take care,
    Paul

P.S. I just want to say how much nicer all of the members are in Tacoma World compared to the two sites for Boston Whalers. There are two sites for Boston Whaler. One of them is Continuous Wave and the other is Whaler Central. The two leaders that run those sites are both extreme Assholes.

I've had good luck with Mercury motors. There are dealers everywhere if you need parts or service.

Is the E Tech 2 or 4 stroke?

My BIL has a 60 Merc on his Whaler. 3 seasons old and no issues.

Worth noting, what dealers are local and which ones are good to work with, both sales and service?

I was pretty sure it was.

Do they still have the problem with the oil injection plumbing leaking as they age? People would just end up pre mixing their fuel when the oil injection became unreliable.

Okay so more information about our upcoming repower purchase. I live in Marysville, WA, which is about forty miles north of Seattle. There are tons of outboard dealers on the western side of Washington so finding a dealer is not an obstacle.
