Dealer prints their own labels after they add their bs addons like pin striping and step bars, so who knows if they adjust the msrp numbers.

Hey, another reason I'm happy about my Pro. I paid MSRP then, and I'd likely pay MSRP now (unless I went to CA, then add a few thousand $$)

Wait, so I'm happy my overpriced truck is still overpriced? Yep. That's it. Humans are weird.

^^^The hard truth. Open trade benefits everyone. It largely makes the world a more peaceful and productive place, and supports entrepreneurship, efficiency, and ingenuity as people compete with each other in an open market. It took several hundred years to figure this out. Right now we are all going to have to figure it out all over again it seems.....but hey.....every once in a while a reminder is needed.

Not that i don’t want you to be happy with yourself. But the dealer closest to me has a new Pro and there advertised price is $2600 off MSRP, i’d Imagine if you wanted to buy it they could find a bit more... just saying....

Well, 10 years working in the industry should clear that up.

Can't get political here, but the hard truth is that steel plants are reopening in the US.

I am looking daily for my new truck. I am waiting patiently to make the deal. Through August till November I'm going to make the purchase. I thought about a 2019 model but I think I can score better prices at year end deals on 2018.

Yeah, they're used often to put pressure on politicians. That's why you'll see them targeting specific industries. The EU is placing tariffs on imports of Bourbon, Blue Jeans, and Motorcycles from the US. Those, along with the steel, look to be be targeting specific portions of the countries voting base. I won't get into my thoughts on any policies of course, because we're on a Tacoma forum. :)

Eh, I'm not sure I totally agree because we weren't operating in an open market to begin with. Other countries heavily subsidized particular industries to undercut everyone. In China, the government subsidizes private businesses for equipment, overhead and even raw materials so their the companies can be artificially cheaper than equivalent companies in other countries. Not to mention the games they play with their currency. Nonetheless, as consumers we had a choice to put our money where our mouth is by supporting domestic companies, but we chose to buy the cheapest products available.

I think the issue is that the tariffs are sold to the public as a cost on businesses who operate outside our country and take advantage of us. But the truth is that we (consumers/tax payers) are really footing the bill for this. So I guess the question is should we be helping an industry that couldn't survive on it's own. I'm not sure I can answer that, but I'm a cheap ass like everyone else and I don't like paying more for stuff. Not to mention the difficulties it poses for my small business (which, if you're wondering, we already used domestic steel. But availability has diminished and cost has sky rocketed).

Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong here, but isn’t the MSRP advertised there marked up? According to this chart (the best I can tell, it’s a little hard to read) the MSRP of an AT TRD Pro (im assuming this is the auto) is $43520, not $44743, which means the savings are only $1377.

Again, not that great with the maths so I could be wrong

it's against the law for a dealer to modify the Manf. Window sticker. This is why the dealer has to add a second sticker or addendum for any modifications.

Oh no doubt, I haven't a clue what we should do, I just hate the blanket thought that open trade is good for every one, as what ever trade agreements we have, have not worked for our workers here in our country. And I can Aldo say I am a cheap bastard and if I can save a buck, I will try.

As a developed leading country we must keep our interests at the forefront as well as the worlds. The tariff game is having tremendous effect on us and many other countries (in the past, currently, and in the future). For years we have been taken advantage of in many aspects of business and manufacturing industries. Import and export is a fine line with many variables that’s for sure. Hopefully we can start to gain back some ground that we have steadily lost for decades.

The bottom line is the industries that left the US to begin with has cost all of us greatly whether it be jobs, economic benefits, etc. Hopefully we can start to rebound and increase our own economic status while not hurting ourselves or others in the process. But unfortunately this may be unavoidable.

Back to the topic lol, price increases suck!!!

i just built my 17, went from 35,871 to 36,955 but that does not include the 650 tow package that I got, as it was not an option to add. So really 1,084 bucks, but now all that safety stuff is included and its not on my 17.

Neither the business or the consumer should pay in my way of thinking . The Gov. should collect the tariffs and find a way that the businesses and consumers get the tariffs to offset the price increases . But that will never happen lol.
