Wow I didn't even know this was programmable. I wonder if in the future they will allow us to simply make the changes using the headunit.

Changing the amount of blinks to 6 and turning the seat belt chime off was totally worth the $20 for a cable.
I do wish we had the option to hold the unlock button to roll all the windows down and open the moonroof. That’s a fun party trick.

    That would be nice!

Speaking of party truck... is there a way to disable the open door buzzer when accessory is on? Couldn't find this in Warnings.

If you look in your manuals on page 655, there is a list of things a dealer "can" do for you.

Best way to do this is buy an ODBII Bluetooth dongle from Amazon. Either the Carista or BAFX. Pay the $9.99 or whatever for the Carista trial and change them yourself in the app. Some dealers will do it, some will charge shop time, some will refuse and state it's for "liability".

    https://caristaapp.com/vehicles/toyota/tacoma/3rd-gen

I'd say get some people together, throw in a little and just do a bunch of them at once.

    Some more on it here.

Not in Techstream but I know other members have found work arounds by modifying their truck in different ways.

I did that with my VW, able to roll the windows down with my keyfob that is. Roll down with unlock and roll back up with lock. Carista and VCDS are fun tools.

Yup. I have done it on several 2020s and 2021s. That is just pathetic info from your dealer. See the ECU Update thread and the link at the bottom of the 1st Post for all the Customizations that are possible on a 2020.

The weird one is that the door open chime doesn't take on the majority of Tacos. All others shown can be done very easily.

Thanks for the info I will bring it to the dealer because now he is saying only certain Tacoma's have the option.
