Yeah. The 6's battery sucked even from the get-go. After a year too they said it could drop down an additional 20% battery life. The new 8 is supposed to only drop 8% I think. Although these newer phones look super nice, I wish you could still pop off the back without disassembling it to put in a new fresh one after a year.

That and the removable micro SD, which they removed from the 6, was what drew me to getting that I've an iPhone. Now I'm back to iPhone and am filled with regret. Stuck with it for another year and then back to androids

There is not a large amount of space back there.. perhaps if I relocated the plugs there would be room for a CB to sit deeper.

Yeah I had the same experience looking for a place to stick my ham radio. Ended up upgrading just to get a model with a remote head unit because even smaller radios didn't fit.

I wish you could get the storage cubby separately because I've already removed my Qi switch... not sure if it offers more storage space but I'm not about to pay $70 for the whole front console piece to find out.

    wanna be mods
Has anyone done a swap for an aftermarket rocker switch (thinking about this spot for anytime front and rear camera switch). I figure since I DON'T use it EVER, it won't be like folks on youtube putting it in the BSM switch location and having to set it behind the radio/nav unit, in the on position, no less, whereas the Qi switch can just be tossed aside.

I also was thinking about relocating BSM to the Qi slot and putting the camera switch in the BSM switch location...oh the fun of not running any fancy switch panel !

I was looking to see if anyone has been able to repurpose that area, which seems pretty worthless even if I did have phone that charged. Getting a small GMRS or CB unit there would be worth cutting into the plastic but it doesn't seem like anyone here on TW has been successful, or rather, posted successful photos :)
