Looking for another go to center for alignments and tire service near Chandler/south Phoenix area, or maybe Casa Grande.
I've had an alignment program(3 year deal) through my local big o tires here in Maricopa City. There's really nothing else here except similar shops. They have been doing a pretty good job at the service on my truck but the thing is, they are always sooooo freaking busy. So much that I no longer want to keep doing service with them and want to go somewhere else as my plan with them is up in March. I am willing to take the drive to get it done, but as long as it's not gonna be an all day ordeal. It always takes quite a while to get it done which I understand it can be a process. But if there's any chance I can find a shop that can do it in less than 4 hours that'd be great. Because yeah this last time took 5 hours. It took 3 hours before they actually got it pulled in to start. So unless this is the norm pretty much everywhere, then I'd appreciate any and all feedback regarding the wait times they experience, and where you all take your trucks, and how well the service is done. Maybe some pricing thrown out there so I have an idea what to look for when it comes time to get it done again (for an alignment). Or any places that offer an alignment plan like big o does. Even another big o would work if anyone's got one they go to that isn't crazy busy every day of the week.

Let's hear your stories and experiences from the good, AND the bad.

    TIA:)

Anyone? Also forgot to add, a place that actually knows how to air up tires properly. Always over inflating my 33's. I think on a 15x10 the recommended pressure was 29 psi for 33x12.5, from discount tire. Which they are good at that kinda stuff, but are too far for me and don't do alignments... Big o airs them suckers up to 35 which rises up to 37/38 in the daytime heat... Tired of airing them back down. Not a huge deal but I'd figured these putzes would have a better clue.

    Howdy,

So firstly, is your truck lifted? Control arms? Need some additional info.

If not stock, then most shops will have some confusion over how to get it set up right, as most techs simply follow the on screen prompts for stock setup, and probably cannot set caster properly. That could be whats taking so long. The printout they hand you is easily modified to read whatever they want it to, so remember that when your not sure if your alignment is correct.

Next, why do you have a need for a service contract for alignments?

I have heard good things about jacks alignment on 43rd and camelback, and "bear alignment," although im not sure where it is. Both are knowledgeable and can setup to custom specs on anything.

Ive had terrible luck at network alignment and the handful of other big name places.

With custom arms, and a lift, it regularly took most places a few hours to get it close. Recently at work we got the most fancy wizzbang machine, after some trial and error i got it setup better then any other shop ever had, and it only took two hours. Next time, less then an hour.

Yes I'm lifted. And I understand it can be a process to get it aligned and take a couple hours. But not all damn day. The fact of the matter is that the shop here is always crazy busy every day. And takes 2-3 hrs just to get a vehicle pulled in for service. And I like their alignment program because it's cheaper and I can take it in whenever I want of it goes out of alignment or if I change any suspension components. It's not a need, just a convenience. Plus cheaper. How much do alignments go for? I can't remember what it is normally at big o. Seems like it's $75. I think I paid $149 for 3 years tho. I thought that was a good deal. Idk. It says that the plan doesn't cover anything out of normal such as suspension modifications and such, but I think they don't care. I've had more than a few visits for an alignment over the last 3 years after changing tires, control arms, ball joints, tie rods, lower control arms, cam tab gussets, bushings.. granted some were changed all at once but.. yeah. I mean I should be pretty good and set because the only other thing I plan on changing is the lift. Then it'll be normal wear and tear after that and won't be in for alignments as often. Idk. I just wanna find a different reliable shop that doesn't take all day to get things done. I'm a pretty patient person, but not with big o anymore.
