Use: 2nd Gen Tacoma, DCSB 4X4, NEVER less than 100 pounds in bed or more than 250, no towing ever, 2-3" lift, stock hangers, keep spring over, maximum flex and travel .

What fits my criteria best? No budget constraints.

I knew about custom alcan and deaver... just wondered if there was something premade out there I could save time and money that would fit my application.

I think adding a extra leaf from a donor leaf pack and losing the overload spring would be a lot better than spending hundreds or dollars...just me however.

Randomly adding leaves and seeing if they work is not my idea of a good time. Hunting in junkyards or refurbishing parts is also not my idea of a good time. I want to do this once and do it right. Again, price is not an issue if the only thing that provides the best flex and travel is $600. If it can be done for less, I am all ears.

As far as I know, Dakars have an offset center pin that casues issues with axle positioning shims, The Allpro Expo pack is way too stiff and tall for what I want, and add a leaf kits limit flex. Is there anything out there I am missing?

AAL are a lot stiffer than adding a single leaf from a donor leaf pack. The last generation Dakota looks like a perfect truck to steal one off of. Take the OL off and awesome flex for little cash.............

5100's all the way around. Front set at .85. Camburg Spindles. Camburg Uniball 1.25 UCA's. Total Chaos LCA skid plates. Custom Deaver 10 pack rear leaf spring. BFG AT KO's 285/70/17, Weathertech floor liners, Wet Okoles. Midland CB/PA, Firestick.
If money is not an issue - Deavers are awesome. They are a little on the pricey side. Another consideration is your location. I am in Orange County and Deaver Springs just happen to be near by. They are now doing a ton of Ford Raptor leaf spring replacements - taking out the stock 2" block. Deaver has been in business for like 100 years...seriously. You are dealing with a family company and not some big corporation. Highly recommended.

Sounds like you need something custom like al an or deaver. Personally I'd go with the ome's if I were you

When and if I re-do my rear leafs I'm going to do what doug did and pull some packs off a Ford.

As long as you don't completely toast your stock springs I'll help you put one together Sean.;)

No excuses Max !! If you were closer I'd do the same for you too...:p

I'm getting ready to do these 2nd gen springs for a member.....

Check out the top 2 over loads off my stock springs, that slab of steel dwarfs the 2nd gen's

Dude the Best part of owning a truck is tearing it down and building and customizing the parts you need or want and being able to enjoy the fruit of your labor. As far as I'm concerned Doug is the man!

Besides I can't tell you how many over the counter parts I've bought only to end up modifying them anyway to fit or work the way I wanted too. Spend the dollars on the shocks and struts and get creative with most everything else!

Doug....wonder if those 2nd gens would fit my 1st gen? LOL!

Ya Pancake seems to continuously get worse, especially when the rain hits it. Makes it interesting every time.:D

You should, it should be interesting to say the least. Just don't run too many runners over.:D
