    My 1989 22R (that's right high idling for 5 minutes til it warms up 2 barrel carb 4 speed) gets the same 18MPG as my 2008 2.7L auto :deadhorse:

    Snugtop cab high canopy.
    The current 2.7L 4 cylinder has about 150% of the horsepower of the 22R.
