Looks like the 2016 model change dropped resale a bit on our gen. Looked mine up today and it took a bit of a hit to a month or two ago. Oh well, still love my baby and keeping her awhile.

What is it now? I just bought mine a month ago. Looking to trade mine in for a 16-17 sometime next year.

Mine dropped $1k it seems. I would hold on to yours, your gonna eat up alot of negative equity trading so soon. Makes sense it is a "new gen" happens with other cars.

$1K drop isn't that bad. I plan on driving my 2gen for at least a year until some of the kinks are worked out after first year introduction. Guess it's time to lift my truck since the lift kits are interchangeable between 2nd and 3rd gen.

I dont think thats official yet, someone told me the shock mounts were different. I'd wait for the sema show and toytec to post up or PM them since they successfully lifted the first one.

From what I've read, it's the same frame beefed up with another cross member.

Cambolts are different, heard tweeks to suspension, again I wouldnt assume anything and sink money into a lift until details are confirmed, just a small change to the mount point or top hat, etc even by a few mm and then they wont be interchangeable, unless of course you go the spacer route.

I posted something on here about a dealer asking 37k for a used 2015 4X4 sport short bed with like 8k miles.

Haha, here's hoping 2nd gens become the new 1st gens, and 5 years from now are like gold.

I wouldn't worry either, 2nd Gens will still retain value.

The value will be down for a bit then come back up a little bit after the initial hoopla is over with the 3rd gen.

Probably will to some extent, but they won't be like the 1st gen double cabs - those were FAR less common than 2nd gen double cabs, and supply and demand applies to used vehicles like anything else. My opinion anyway.

mine did too...checked it a couple weeks ago and it was 25k for the same mileage/condition and now it's down to 22k. still right about what I payed for it 5 years ago (25k before adding trade in/down pmt) so I can't complain too much lol

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
I would not worry much. Its KBB algorithms and its normal. The fact is
2gen engine and transmission will outlast 2.5 gen minivan engine by decades. So one way or another there will be a steady demand for 2gen trucks. There will be people swapping 2gen engines into 2.5 gen trucks.:D

Still doesn't warrant enough for a decent drop in price. Some first gens I see are selling for $15k still and they are 10-15 years old.

I don't know if some of them were BSing, but on another Toyota forum, I see people mentioning trade in values they've received that are way beyond what they are where I live. If they weren't fibbing, then what you'll get will be dependent to some degree on where you live.

And yes - keep your 2nd Gen unless it's really old and worn out. Give the new '16 owners time to find the bugs in this new Gen truck.

    That is pretty good imo.
Still need someone to show me the money (besides a dealer).
