So you just assume he's cheating insurance without knowing what kind of insurance he has?

IMO stupidity should never be covered for damaging your own vehicle. I have my opinion you are also entitled to have yours. Isn't it a great world we live in?

Everyone knows prior to starting a vehicle after a rollover you must pull the plugs and remove the oil from above the pistons to prevent hydrolocking. Its really quite common knowledge.

If his policy covers it great, if it doesn't unless a "story" is made up like is usually the case, then it will be a tough lesson for the OP.

Like I said, glad he is safe and on his way home.

    Where did I say that?

Nevermind don't respond. I don't have to defend my opinion. Over and out, glad you are safe, OP.

Phew... here's to hoping her gets home safe. And to hoping the truck can be taken care of. Definitely sucks, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Trucks are replaceable. Lives are not.

I know he is relieved to get out either way. Hopefully its not extreme engine failure or anything. Although hydraulic lock can do some extreme damage quickly. It's good he did not roll farther down the mountain either.

Damn, sure are a bunch of straight walkers on the forum who have never told a lie, had fun without calculating out every detail, or farted in public.

Dude went wheeling solo, flopped over, and got some help out. End of story. All you cry babies should just go back to watching your "reality" tv shows if you want drama.

Should start a thread to list all the nancie's in here, so when they need some help, everyone can go chime in with their "holier than thou" bullshit.

Dafuk? Are you serious, or just have memory issues?

"Lemme guess, next he'll try claiming it on his insurance"

Sure sounds like you're assuming he's going to claim it on his insurance, considering he hasn't, nor has he mentioned he will.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Glad to see that he was prepared etc.

As to the insurance debate, why is accidently flopping it on its side worse then some dumbass sliding off the road, or crashing in a parking lot? Its his premium etc thats REALLY going up..

Its not valid insurance claims that make other people premiums crazy, it UNinsured and underinsured motorists out there.

If anyone does not want to pay the premium for accidents like this. They have the option not to (unless your financed lol) but liability with a good driving record is way cheap.

^ IF he was to claim it on insurance, he still pays deductable and a premium bump etc. If it was a common thing for him, then he would be denied coverage (or pay high risk premium)

the insurance company is going to get thier money. No bail outs there. No worries.

For those of you wondering how he got back on 4 wheels...

It looks like he looped the winch cable around a rock or something...pretty damn genius for one guy to do all by himself, it doesn't look like he had any help. Also extremely risky if he anchored to a huge rock on a steep hill directly above him.

    Yep.
Glad OP made it through the rollover and hopefully back to the main road unharmed.

    Props to being prepared

I go wheeling alone quite often, it's my meditation at times. Luckily on this coast you are never too far from help... blessing and a curse.

LOL, I noticed the same thing. Hopefully he didn't do that on the rescue -- no good deed goes unpunished, though. I am considering sliders again . . . and hitting this guy up for his packing list.

I cant believe there is so much hate... Jeeze people, hes a man who did something and it didnt go as planned.. if any of you being negative have never done that, my hat is off to you... Im glad hes ok and is heading out. If i lived closer i would have come to help, mostly because i treat the brotherhood of Toyota the same way i do my Fire and EMS family.. we do everything we can for each other no matter how dumb we thought the original idea may have been. To say hes going to claim it on insurance, you dont know that.. to say that it was stupid to go on his own, to each their own, he seems like more of a survivalist than i am, so i wouldnt be able to go alone like that, but maybe he can...

Holy Shit!!! That is genius and a cool head. Regardless of how he got there -- he took a breath and kept it together. Had the truck started -- no one would know!!!
