AAA does do off road. Took my wrx what I thought was just a nice dirt road to do shooting. Well it was not a nice road and ended up breaking a tie rod 20 miles up a very rough road for any suv or truck. It was free up to 50 miles of off road towing. Also a buddy went elk hunting and a buddy broke down on a old logging road that was very rough. They came and got him for free as well. Just saying.

But I am happy everyone made it safe and he is on his way home.

For those of you who are following this:

Member and best friend of mine, BeeRadd and myself will be taking my shop's flatbed along with a friend's Dodge 2500 up to Ridgecrest with some more towing equipment to get him up on the trailer, strapped in, and back down to OC.

Will post updates when we have him and the truck in our possession :D

Awesome community! Glad he's ok and can get to take his son to D-land tomorrow. Bummer about the truck. But seriously, I would imagine after a jolt that bad that would cause airbags deploy would keep the truck running again- I'm a total newb to this so bear with me. Just thinking that there's a pressure sensor on the airbag so maybe that needs to be reset as well? Hopefully it's something minor and he can be out there exploring again soon! I've learned a lot so far from his experience- I do like to explore on my own, usually very mild trails but it's an eye opener on how prepared one should be even for the most mild of things should something randomly bad occur

This is slowly becoming a logistical nightmare...

He has to run his winch off jumper cables from another truck to his battery, just to be able to get onto the trailer, and we have use some planks/homemade ramps to get him on the flatbed. All the while, the truck providing the power will have to roll close enough to keep the jumper cables from stretching.

We usually use the trailer for hauling Jeeps with 37-40" tires, so they just crawl up usually. Shane is on 33" pizza cutters, so this is another animal.

Wish us luck with getting him on the trailer.

Why didn't you rig up his blocks to the front of the trailer and the hook the line to a truck, drive the truck away causing the rolled one to be pulled up the trailer?

With animal style fries...you know that's happening.

Plus my buddy's Ram 2500 has a DVD player so Brad can watch a movie and not bug me with dumb questions the whole time like "are we there yet?" :D

Round trip will be 340 miles. I'll probably be home at 2-3am, but working at an Off Road shop has it's benefits when your boss understands the situation ;)

If you have 1" webbing and some carabiners you can build a pulley system that could allow you three to pull him up by pulling on the tail end of the webbing. Let me know if you want me to walk you through it, if you haven't gotten him up already.
    Good luck!

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
That actually doesn't sou d that bad :)

To save the hassle if any of uiu have a boat or a charged battery. Prefer a deep cycle grab it ans you don't have to follow with the jumper truck

Awesome work guys. This is how a forum/community should work. Dude gets into a bind, and others that share the passion come to the rescue knowing it could very well be them in the bind, needing all the help you can get.

Back in my Jeep days, it was a common occurrence. Glad to see people are still friendly, and not just looking out for themselves.

We are still in SoCal, will be leaving in about 45 minutes. Our ETA is approximately 23:00 at Ridgecrest where he's waiting for us.

Mach has a winch, just take a extra battery to run his winch and get the truck up the trailer. Or is that not possible?

Oh dang, well you can also disconnect the winch power lines and run them to the jumper cables, which might get you guys a bit of extra power line length for a bit of flexibility. Otherwise, have Shane ask around in Ridgecrest, I'll bet there will be a few folks there that would be willing to help push his truck up, and if he asks now if they'd be available at 11-12pm then it would be nicer than actually asking at 11-12pm. Who knows, maybe someone there has a winch that you guys could use.
