Reset oil light before it comes on?

    I'm getting ready to change my oil for the first time on my truck, which I just purchased barely used. Is there a way I can reset the change oil light interval now, since I'm changing my oil early I don't want it to come on in another 1000 miles.

    pretty sure if you go thru the procedure to reset it.....it wont come on again til 5k miles later.

    hold trip button down without any power on. whle holdn the button, turn the key to the on position not starting. odometer will flash - - - - -. once the - - - - arent flashing anymore, turn key off and let go of the button its reset
