I know it sucks balls and most don't use it, but this question is aimed at those who do.

Is your Entune working, specifically Pandora? I've been getting 'Login Error' for the last 24 hours, every time I try and fire up Pandora. Other apps appear to have the same issue, although they suck so bad I never use them. Have had the truck for 2 years/ 37K miles and have seen my share of Entune errors, but this is a first. There are several other threads that are alluding to an outage of some sort, but I can't seem to find anything official.

Update: 11:00am CST - Called Entune Support. Entune is down for all customers, specifically Pandora. Techs are working on the issue. Technician says that Entune does not generically suck. I confirmed that said technician does not drive a Toyota, and informed him that Entune does indeed suck in real life.

HAHA. I've used Pandora forever. It's simple and easy through the app and I have the paid service so the sound quality is awesome. I also use the weather maps quite a bit, and occasionally the gas price one. On the whole, Entune sucks balls and Toyota needs to pony up and support Google/ Apple who already have this figured out.

It took me almost a year to figure this out. The key to the app is never touch it. It only makes you log in if you hit the button that says Login on your phone when that window pops up after you start the truck. If you do nothing, it automatically logs you in!

Do this. From the iPhone, go to Settings --> Notifications --> ToyotaEntune and turn notifications Off.

This is something that a halfway decent software development/ test team would've fixed in the very first product update, but it's been frustrating Toyota customers for years and nobody cares.

    yes and no.

the app is designed to auto log you in once connected. whether you touch it or not when prompted. by ignoring the prompt, it simply is delaying the applications connection to your phone as a hot spot for data and credential passing.

as of a few days ago, i keep getting pandora invalid login. tried everything but nothing works. i assumed i screwed something up when i traded trucks and it was still seeing the old truck so i updated my account and made sure only my current vehicle was being seen by entune.

you can also go to myentune.com and login with your same credentials and make sure everything is kosher.

Yep. But if you touch it, it makes you type in your full user name/ password. Every. Single. Time. I believe 100% that it is a bug. Most people notice it when their phone switches from wifi to the carrier's network (in the driveway/ after work).

Just got off the phone with Entune support and asked about this issue. He said that this characteristic of requiring login when moving form wifi to carrier network is a "Security Feature" so that nobody hacks into your Entune. hmmmm

Just called support and updated the original post. Entune is down. Techs are working on the issue. No firm ETA on resolution (24-48 hours).

Did say it was primarily a Pandora issue. I don't generally use Slacker so can't comment. The fact that they limit your ability to go to the next screen while driving is crazy. What is the difference between that and changing the station on the radio?

I typically use only Pandora. I tried iHeartRadio and Slacker this morning just to see if it was Pandora or Entune that had the problem. iHeartRadio wasn't working either, but Slacker worked.

So if i start my truck, and i see the notification pop up on my phone that entune wants to connect. I just tap it, unlock my phone, and entune pops up and connects. No prompt to login.

If i ignore it, it works anyways. Not sure why you're getting prompted to sign in each time.

A coworker and I both have an.... "obtained"... version of the Pandora app, and both of ours failed to launch this morning with a "your session has timed out" message.

I suspect that Pandora cracked down on the "obtained" app, but got a little too heavy handed and also broke the Entune functionality.

I really hope that's not the case, and that Pandora is just having issues on their end, but...

You seem to imply that Entune wasn't broken to begin with...

    He means "obtained".

I have co-oped at Toyota twice as an engineer and in every meeting about the infotainment (gps, entune, voice control, etc.) when employees are asked if they use the built in maps/entune or their phone, absolutely EVERYONE uses their phone. Toyota takes a hit on JD Power customer surveys (this is the industry standard for vehicle rankings by class) and knows about the issue; it’s huge. There are many reasons why it hasn’t been solved yet, but the main reason is there is no way Toyota (or any manufacturer for this matter) will be able to compete with Apple or Google on navigation. That is why All vehicle manufacturers have moved to phone integration like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It is also that Toyota has been protecting its consumers personal data and proprietary data on the vehicles. They have been negotiating with Apple to protect said data and have finally succeeded. The entire lineup will have Apple Carplay loaded starting with the Avalon coming out this year.

Hope this explains a bit and I apologize for the lengthy response.
