    For me, the plastic filter housing was either really tight or just kind of tight based on the temperature of the truck/oil. When I switched to metal, it seemed as if it was always the same "tightness" as I had left it. Toyota did not do any of my oil changes and I was always surprised changing oil and fighting the plastic housing.

    I always wondered what direction I would go in if it got stuck.

    Well documented and I think that you have helped out many in future searches.
