First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
    Dear fellow TW members,

It is with great regret and sadness that I must report that my beloved 07 Tacoma TRD Off-road was a total loss in an auto accident Monday night this week. Here's the story...

Monday this week I drove up to Kennewick WA to pickup a new travel trailer I purchased new from an RV dealer and got a great price so worth the drive. Well, it took 9 hours to complete that transaction and get out of the RV dealer and by then a weather front was moving in. I had to cover about 200 miles of back highway in the dark and cold, about 29 degrees. The trouble came on the last leg of this journey, in the Columbia River Gorge on HWY 84 right at the Multnomah Falls National Monument site my truck lost traction in the curves and the whole road had become black ice. My trailer jackknifed and launched my truck towards the guard rail. I punched into the rail and as my airbags deployed the truck became air born and went right over it along with the trailer, and then tumbled down a 60 foot embankment to the river below.

I managed to self extricate myself. I was the lone occupant of my truck. And even without use of my left arm and a broken collarbone I managed to drag myself up the embankment to the road, cross the icy road and alk a further 1/2 mile on ice to the Multnomah Lodge where I lucked out and a sole night maintenance man was inside and called 911 for me. I was released from the hospital last night and am doing pretty well. My Tacoma saved my life for sure.

    Wow.

Glad you are ok. Mostly anyway. As you are aware, the results could have been much worse.

Two 'technical' questions. Did you sense that the airbags were helpful at all. Often they are a nuisance, but this case may be different?

I assume you were buckled in. Is the clavicle issue from that?

    Take care and heal up!
