    What a Bummer.

So I wake up on New Years Day...

    I make some tea...

I look for my wife getting home from work and notice my truck is 90 degrees from the angle I park in my driveway.

I think why did my wife turn my truck that way?

30 mins later my wife walks in and looks in a panic. "What the hell Happened?" she says. I say what you didn't turn my truck? she goes I think you need to go outside...

Turns out some D-Bag was drunk and decided to park their van in my garage at 50 mph. Even better was the fact that they deflected off of the driver door of my Tacoma to get just the right angle to go straight in. crushing in the door, fender and F-ing up the left front suspension.

we call the Police and they were expecting us. They had just left the scene a few hours before.

First I was Pissed, and dealing with insurance is no picnic. they deemed it a total loss.

you know how dealers put the nicest vehicle they ordered in the indoor showroom to showcase the new models? That was my truck. I went in to buy one.. picked one off the lot, and went in to talk numbers... There she was. My Truck.

2005 Double Cab TRD Offroad, Tow Package, Utility Package, SR5 Pre-runner with every upgrade available at the time in Speedway Blue.

Been through a lot with that truck. 100,000 miles, two wives, one kid, Many trips to the dirt bike tracks, Tail gating at ball games.

I loved that truck. I'm going to miss her

thats what my wife said, but yes I did. but my garage is detached, not the house in the pic below. Still I guess I sleep pretty soundly to miss the whole thing as it happened.

and thanks Alder932, it was a good friend, never once let me down.

Why didn't the police knock on your door? That's odd to me. Sorry to hear about that hopefully you'll be able to get compensated to fix the garage as well as given a fair price for the truck. Insurances are a huge pain.

Do you have any pictures you would like to share sounds like one heck of a demolition derby that happened.

If he can sleep through a van smashing into his truck and garage I’m sure a little knocking and doorbell ringing is not a problem.

I think if I looked out the window and saw my truck in a different position I would have been out there in a nano second.

Damn, I've only lost a truck to a sale... nothing tragic. I can only imagine, you put it into perspective with

"...100,000 miles, two wives, one kid, Many trips to the dirt bike tracks, Tail gating at ball games..."

I could sleep through the sound of a freight train colliding with a gas tanker.

she also shoved the wheel forward and blew out the driver front tire
    IMG_7566.jpg
This is how I saw the truck through the window, I thought it was just moved for some reason
    IMG_7572.jpg
Whats left of my right side garage, Left side had damage too but mostly just the door. the back wall was pushed through a bit.
    IMG_7573.jpg
I was upstairs sleeping in the house. must have been a great dream but yeah they said they tried to knock but I was out cold.
    IMG_7575.jpg
I had some sand in totes to weigh the bed down for the winter, the impact snapped the rail cleats being used to hold them stable and they impacted the tailgate hard enough to buckle it out.

So I just bought a 2014 Silver TRD sport yesterday. after driving a Kia Soul rental for the past 3 weeks as soon as I got in it and drove it I was like.."Yeah I'm home".

    Wow.

From what I see, I'm kinda surprised the truck was totaled.

Hope your garage has been secured, and glad it all seems to be getting sorted out vehicle wise.
