Hey, dudes! (Is that still a thing in Hawai'i?)

I'm going to be heading to the Big Island next month for vacation, specifically Hilo.

Do ya'll have any good restaurant recommendations? Looking for some good breakfast/donut places as well.

    Thanks guys!

That shouldn't be a problem. I usually drive 45 minutes to get breakfast.

Haven't been back since 2012 but from my memory:

Short n' Sweet bakery- Just about everything but I loved their bagels and they have Hilo/captain cook coffee
K's drive inn- Kalua pig and gravy burger (oddly delicious)
Cafe 100- Allegedly the originator of the loco moco
Lucy's Taqueria- Decent mexican on the island
Ken's house of pancakes- Hilo classic try getting a "Sumo" style plate. Will be full for days.
Hilo lunch shop- Hilo classic that is only open from like 11 to 2 and never has food when I get there but has amazing bentos.
Bear's Coffee- basic dinner but had good biscuits and gravy, coffee was eh.
Kosmic cones- I'm fairly sure this was a DQ that is rebranded but they have good soft serve and that nostalgic feel.
Pizza Hawaii- Decent NY style pizza, simplicity is key here. IF you wanted something more: Big Island Pizza but I'm partial to Pizza Hawaii.
Farmer's market has all kinds vendors

There are a bunch of little hole in the walls in downtown hilo, lot of hippy spots, lot of grungey looking spots, etc have fun.

get the onieasy (spelling) omelet. it is a snow crab and lap chong (hong kong style sausage) covered in hollandaise sauce. be aware, it is kinda big but worth the money. also, be aware that it is kinda big.

also, if you're going to kona, try One Aloha shave ice. it is like a snow cone but made with local, organic sauces. also try Hayashi's you make the roll. it is a small sushi shop that all the locals know and love.
