Be careful. Speaking as one who has detailed many, many vehicles and been asked to fix way too much stuff messed up by overly aggressive first timers. Done correctly, it's not nearly as difficult as one might think. Done incorrectly, you can do some serious (and expensive to fix) damage.

On Amazon, around $80, ran it twice for 5 hours total and it zapped every bit of stink. Leaves behind a very tell tale smell of ozone but it will clear out in a few days. DO NOT run it while you are inside the space it is operating in. Read the instructions, nothing living should be in the same area while it is on. Good tool when used correctly.

I sincerely hope you get just enough to buy your dream truck from this. The transformation has been unreal, and you get every nickel you want out of this truck when you decide to sell it. Cheers to you!!!

For shits and giggles, how about bringing it by a dealership for an evaluation on trade in value? Find one w a certified 2nd Gen you’re looking for and see what happens???

    Looks terrific

This rebuild is absolutely amazing. Truly a great job!

If you end up doing this let me know how much you get a quote for and where you're at. I have an '07 with around 160k miles and am considering upgrading. Still have a bit to pay off for it though so we'll see.

So just as an idea for what I got outta my old truck.

2008, regular cab, 2wd, auto, 150,000. Kinda beat up paint was pealing on the roof, needed new tires, new rear bumper, scrapes dings on the body, and interior was a little stained on the seats. Not like it matters much for resale but also had 18” rims 255/55/18 tires, Knn intake, Doug thronley headers.

Anyway I had the truck for sale privately didn’t really have any interest while I was looking for a new truck. Finally found one 500+miles away so I couldn’t drive my old truck out there because of the state of the tires. I ended up taking the truck to car max for a quick sell and got $3500.

Needless to say that’s been my situation but again the truck was a little rough, but I feel like the price was a kinda low. honstly price was to be expected from somewhere like car max.

Probably the nicest thing I've heard about the build. Really appreciate it. I'm not in any hurry to sell, so my hope is to get what I want for it.

    Side note - 50 posts!

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately mine is a 5 lug like the one in this post which they don't have as good of a resale value, but still if I could get a trade in for that much it might be worth it for an upgrade. I'm not in any hurry to do that though. Got a baby on the way and we're closing on a house the end of the month here.

For sure totally getcha on that man but the truck I got $3500 for was also a 5lug base model. So who knows depending on the shape yours is in I’m sure you can make out with more than 35.
