So today I go in for them to look at my timing plate cover to set up for an appt to have the take care of the leak. Well....I take it in they look it over and come back and ask me to show them where its leaking. I proceed to walk out in the service bay and start to reach my hand in to point where its leaking. To my surprise the area has been wiped clean, and i state that to them. They said they must have wiped it with their hand by accident as they were "feeling" for the oil. I just stared and remarked, well it was leaking from the area you just cleaned....so you going to replace it or do i need to go to another toyota to have then do it. The service REP responded with, well toyota wont cover this because its just "sweating" and isn't a real big leak. I understand that concept, but the whole point of them kinda brushing it off was BS. Then they proceeded to tell me that i need to have my pedal shaved for the recall. I state to them I'll sign whatever release i need to so you dont have to mess with the pedal, after about 10 minutes of the REP going on and on and on about the pedal i finally got him to shut up and let me sign the release.

I then left and drove to the other dealership across the way and went in, they looked at my timing cover plate, said it was leaking, and set an appt up tomorrow for them to fix it. Its not a big thing to me at all because the fix i could do myself in no time flat, but figured i got a warranty might as well use it. But its nice that this dealership agreed with me and are resolving the issue.

    Rant over...:D

Good Rant! I had to argue with Beaverton Toyota to get the Rear Springs TSB done on my truck. I actually read the TSB to them over the phone twice before they agreed to do it even after tell me that I had bottomed out on the bump stops. That shit gets old.

I'm thinking it might be worth calling Toyota Corporate and file an official complaint against that stealership. While you may never return to that place... it would be great if you spared other Toyota owners from having to deal with the REP.

i plan on not doing business with them, another dealership for things if i need to. After this work i doubt ill use a dealership again, i just like doing my own things. But again, this is something that i can get a free oil change out of as well so im taking advantage of. :)

    Addendum to previous rant:

You know, I get tired of being treated like a simpleton by people who obviously don't really care about customer service. I experienced this with a Porsche dealership where a service writer tried to brush me off one time too many and I called the owner of the Porsche store and told him that I had been screwed by enough people at his store that I would no longer do business with him for my cars but I still considered him a friend which is the reason why I called to tell him why I wasn't going to do business with him anymore. Still friends to this day but when his service manager personally called me to apologize I told him to eat a bag of dicks as his shine was just that. Shine and he was only being polite and apologetic because his boss balled him up over it. Must have sucked to be him since he had me on speaker for his entire service writer staff to hear how he was gonna make me come back to them.

Still friends with the Porsche store owner and still don't do business there which shows in his face whenever I turn up with new Porsche goodness. Free oil changes and other B.S. offered after you called them out are worthless as at the end of the day the only reason they are offering them to you is to keep you spending money there after they already shit in your hat. Treat me fair from the jump and we will do business together for a long, long time. Crap on me and I'll hold that grudge till the day I die but in retrospect I'm a geezer and don't have patience or time for jaggoffs that want to play little games with my time and money.

Do the other dealer that treated you right a solid by letting the service manager know that you appreciate their taking the time to take care of you and that you will now never go back to "Jaggoff Toyota" for service or when it's time for a new car or truck. You may be surprised at how favorable your presence at the service counter may become after letting them know that.
