Yeah the canister has about 13” length and 11” depth. Like whoispurplegoo said, 47” available for SB, 60” on my LB. IMG_1426.jpg IMG_1429.jpg IMG_1430.jpg

    Hope that helps!

I see that you have a bed mat and the RetraxOne cover. How did you know where to drill for the drainage holes? Did you use any special bit for the bed mat? I want to be sure it doesn't shred the mat if I use a normal wood drill bit. Any recommendations on figuring out a good spot to drill the holes? I installed one of these over the weekend, just haven't drilled in holes yet so it's not completely done. I got stage fright :p

Why the pro up north? I've been looking at these for a bit and one issue I have with the Bak Revolver is that is freezes in the winter and has to sometimes be thawed out to open.

I just have the tubes running under the mat actually. So far so good since October.

Your mat should have a small, circular imprint on it though that lines up with the existing bed drains. I found them on mine looking real close when I had the same idea floating in my head.

For the strength aspect with snow (dead load) on top of the cover but that's a good point. I have woken up to my cover thinly iced over and retracting like normal..

I have the RetraxPro XR. Haven’t put crossbars on it yet. But couple thoughts:

I had the roller rails freeze up pretty bad, hit them with some WD40 silicone spray and they’ve worked great ever since. The lock also had a bunch of ice built up in it. The cover for the lock isn’t perfectly water tight on mine, we’ll see how much of a continuing issue this is. Again, sprayed with a lubricant and thawed. The cover also leaked pretty bad at the tailgate, so I bought some foam gasket tape and ran it along the top of the tailgate. Still isn’t 100% water tight, but I dont need it to be. it’s dry enough for my purposes now.

The sides of the canister are plastic, and this worries me long-term. Plastic gets brittle in the cold. The canister is attached to the rails and the rest of the cover by only 4 screws: in the plastic sides. So far so good but it worries me, seems like a bad call for a $1,600 Toneau.

I’ve got the retrax XR one with Yakima skyline + HD bars. I absolutely love it. The track allows for numerous applications. I put the Yakima fat cat on top last week. And there’s room for more. May upgrade to the out post but not completely necessary. Will upload a picture or video later

PS. did I mention the open/close is hooked up to my rear view mirror for ease

Torn between this or just using KBvoodoo bars on OEM Cover, but my OEM cover is definitely not 100% waterproof and imo, worthless in that sense. I was planning on using the rack system to mount misc. stuff and a roof top tent from time to time. Anybody have any issues with these covers and tent combo?

    Thanks
    Kyle

Unless he comes back and explains, I’m going to assume he tied a string to the Retrax and looped it around his rear view mirror. LoL

Haha nope. It’s the same as programming in your garage opener to it. I’ll post a video of how to when I get a chance

Hey @Toyo901 and @Bajaxr201, awesome setups! Im looking into getting the retrax myself but am having trouble getting exact dimensions, any chance you could do me a favour and take 2 measurements for me? 1) with the tonneau all the way open, the distance from the front of the truck bed / the bulkhead, to the end of the open tonneau, and 2) the available space between the tonneau cannister and the truck bed. I've shown them in these images for clarity. Please also confirm your exact tonneau model. Thank you so much for the help!

I currently have a retractable tonneau (syneticusa ar pro) which I like for the most part.
My only real complaint is the amount of space in the bed the cannister and shutter takes when fully open

I wish I initially went with a paragon cover and kb voodoo or extrusion overland rack as that would allow me access to the full length of an already short bed when needed.
