    Hey all

So I've have my d2s retros on my truck for 3 years now never had a problem getting it inspected until today. Anyone know if there was a change in the law or just stricter inspectors? Is there a way to convince the guy they're legal? Anyone want to buy some retros?

Probably just a strict inspector. Where did you take it? Up here in NOVA the "mom and pop" (Korean owned) places that do inspections will pass your vehicle unless there are major things wrong with it.

so update from my little story.... the owner of CW Customs, a local Retrofitter, drove about an hour to bring me some stock headlights to install so I can get my sticker. still thanking him for going out of his way.... now back to the garage at the inspection station.... guy calls me into the garage and say "let me show you something". takes his crow bar and starts prying on my icon UCA and compressing my coil overs and I quote " see this cheap shit here, you never install garbage on a nice truck you need to figure out who put this on and take it off." I laughed so hard in his face, he never heard of Icons. so much more questionable "inspections" went down its was hard not to laugh at the guy. poor dude was so angry and I have no idea why.

basically the retrofits are illegal as said in the previous posts, if you're going to retrofit, have a set of stockers for inspection time.

I think I’d have a slightly different conversation if I saw that dude prying on my suspension with a crow bar. Holy shit.

There are 100s of places that do inspections. That guy sounds like he has issues.

like I said in the post, the guy was so angry, I tried to be polite as I could but the dude wouldn't relax.... this place ive taken my trucks to for years and they've never given me a hard time until this little guy.

Sounds like he was trying to sell your some BS repairs for your truck, or I bet he "knows a friend" who can install something for you.

If the owner grew up with your father, it might be time to have a talk about who he hired to do his inspection.

And post the name, so other VA folks can stay away.
