Congrats! But make sure you assure her that you're not going to trade her in for a younger mid-sized version

That is correct, the manual trans do not have push button start, and I am happy about that, less potential issues in my opinion.

Nice truck bro... sorry twins did you say?... I'm a twin and thinking you're gonna need a bigger truck! Just sayin.

Good luck with the truck and more importantly your new family. That's and incredible week you're having....

Now the important question... what wheels and tires you going with... might as well order them now while your wife is busy!

the Double cab is plenty big enough for twin babies, and young kids. Once they hit teenage years, maybe an issue then.

if anything, trade in for an access cab, so when they get bigger you can upsize to a double cab and they think it's great. Atleast thats what I am hoping.

Two car seats in back really will pack the Double Cab. It will leave very limited space for any other stuff. Maybe want to get a camper shell for storing items in the bed when you need to haul equipment around.

well I have had to replace an ignition switch, but never a push button. Doesn't mean they don't fail, but think about this. What has less moving parts, because both are electronic.

so you're saying the reason toyota went with a key is because of the clutch cancel switch.. them damn germans at VW must be good at working magic because the push button in my tdi still recognized the same switch.

Guys i'm not trying to start an argument, but there is no reason that toyota could not give you the option to choose push button or keyed ignition. That is all

The Clutch Cancel Switch in the truck is meant to get you through tight situations. You shut the truck off, hit the switch, put it in gear and turn the key riding the starter motor out of your situation. I doubt VW was expecting you to be off road needing to use the starter that way.

I sold it back, I bought it used for about $17k from an individual, wrote a fake bill of sale of course paid about $500 in taxes.
VW gave me $21k for the car after I owned it 2 years 60k miles, plus the $1k they gave me a year earlier for their good will package, plus I had OEM adaptive HID/LED headlights I sold for $700. The car was deleted which I sold the DPF and made money. I made out a little over $5500 in the ordeal. I did the math once, but I'm forgetting stuff.

Oh and Bosch is paying out $350 for aiding in the cheat, that court date is May 11..

So even after my full coverage insurance, all the fuel, tires, and everything I still came out ahead.

It is not that they cannot but then you are going to lose the Off Road part of the Clutch Cancel.

So do the manuals come with better starters, I'd hate to have to get unstuck like that..

That's some serious offroad when you have to do that, I could see it being used in a garage if you didn't quite pull up far enough or need to scoot back an inch or so. Better invest in dual batteries.

Congratulations...time to start building the gun collection. Every time my girls had a first date, I would make sure I was cleaning them...never had to say much more.

I have no idea on how they engineer the starter but that is the purpose, you only use it long enough to get unstuck not ride the trails on it.

Came here expecting a disgruntled 3rd gen owner returning a recent purchase. Pleasantly surprised!
