    Hi,

I have read info online that the Fox factory valving is pretty stiff. I was hoping to get them revalved before installing them.

    1) Has anyone done the revalving? Thoughts? I will be running stock weight for a while.
    2) Does anyone know a shop around Denver area that would be good at this?

I know Accutune does it for $65 a shock, but I would like to avoid shipping at this point.

EDIT: Based on a couple suggestions, I will be installing first and feeling it out for myself, before deciding on a revalving.

There is no general rule of thumb here. I've heard of plenty of people claim the valving is too soft. It's going to change per application and individual.

Interesting. That would make sense seeing my Googling of this resulted in only a few 1-3 page threads on revalving due to stiffness. Guess the absence of those threads mean others find it fine or the other way.

That's good to consider seeing I just picked them up today and looked forward to installing them this weekend... wouldn't want another thing blocking my install.

I'd agree with that. Consumers typically only create a thread/discussion when there is a concern. Whether it be too stiff/soft. Any shock manufacturer is trying to appease the majority as valving is not "one size fits all."

    Stuff and junk and things...
Most OEM Fox are valved too soft on the low speed and as @desertjunkie760 stated they are trying to have 1 valve code for all for the given PN.

IMO if an owner with a lifted toyota IFS 4x4 says it's too stiff then they are usually lifted to high and have zero down travel which is a terrible ride no matter what shims are inside.

I would install them and see what your butt dyno says, if you want to make some changes I can definitely do that for you.

Awesome, I will keep you in mind. Yeah, the guys at Toytec recommended the same thing. Install and try it out first. Ill be installing this weekend, and will report back.

    Thanks everybody.

If you got dcs on the fronts and adjusters for the rears than you will probably be able to get them set right for you. If you are comparing them to stockish than they are so much better.

You can actually work with any vendor who can order and rebuild shocks. They should be able to collect the necessary data, provide that to Fox and have Fox provide the appropriate shim stack. I've only worked with King but I assume Fox would be no different.

Right. My main goal is to avoid shipping costs, and for quick turn around. Which is why I want to work with someone in CO.

My parents' old neighbor in CO went through Filthy Motorsports which I think is outside Boulder for his King setup if you want someone more local. I'm sure they will do Fox too.

Question on the bed lean after installing Kings all around, and OME medium leafs in the rear. To sort out the rear driver side lean, I've seen installing a spacer on the front driver side coilover fixes it. Is that preferred over adjusting the ride height of the coilover?

    Why not just adjust the ride height, I have a couple extra threads on the driver side showing;

@ultrabattler - What did you end up doing? I am about a week away from installing Fox 2.5 front and rear and am curious about getting them tuned. Did you ever get them tuned? How was the ride out of the box? Also, what size lift did you go with? I'm planning on 2.5" or less.

Don't worry original poster, despite your lack of help even though you came here looking for help, here is some info that may help others. I went with the Fox 2.5 Coilover and rear 2.5 shocks + the add a leaf from icon (this will increase ride height by about 1.5"). From the ground to the fender, the rear is 38.5" and the front is 37". As you look at the vehicle the difference is imperceptible. The ride quality is night and day and I am not sure how tuning suspension would make it better. From general speed bumps on the road to hitting washboard roads in the desert at 60mph the ride awesome. You wont be jumping this truck anymore than you would sock, but the ride quality is undeniably better. I think that tuning shocks is important if you are running aftermarket bumpers, cabs, winches etc. If you are running a stock truck with just bigger tires (mine are 275/r17) you will love fox.
