So, I purchased a pair of painted front fender flares from ReveMoto back in June. They arrived in July and being a project where I didn't want to dismantle my Tacoma until I was on leave and ready for my truck to be down a couple of days, I put it off until now. Yesterday, ready to tackle the install, I unwrapped the first of the two flares......wrong color......I checked my order.....Yup it was correct. So I contact ReveMoto today, filed and they make me file a claim. Then they denied me the a replacement at their cost, stating I needed a file a claim within 30 days of receipt.

So here we are in a Mexican Standoff. They admit they painted the flares with the wrong color, yet they refuse to replace them at their cost. I have filed a chargeback with the credit card company. I have file a BBB complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Ultimately.....I just want them as a business to correct their mistake at their cost.

    Your thoughts?

Sounds pretty lame to me. The policy in my opinion is there so people can’t blame stuff on them after they’ve had the product for a while, which makes sense. But, clearly regardless of time this is their screwup, not yours. Sure, you’re past the window, but not taking care of you is very poor form. It’s the scenario that companies with low level customer service revel in. Just my 2 cents.

    All the things!
The tough part here is that as a company, they've already "spent" the money you paid for those flares... hence the 30 day return policy. However, given the nature of this screw up being 100% their fault, it's definitely poor form on their behalf to not make it right.

Edit: The best advice here is to ditch the painted flares and go with the black plastic flares that come on the Offroad... it would look great on Cement. I'm not a huge fan of the painted to match fenders (not that you asked for my opinion)

Good customer service goes a long way and you would be speaking more loudly about they way the corrected it vs speaking loudly about how they wouldn’t because of some lame 30 day policy. They know the F’d up. They should really bite the bullet and fix it if for nothing more than its the right thing to do. I think more companies take the hard-ass approach vs just making it right.

They screwed up, they should make it right regardless of the 30 day policy. That’s what I would do if it was my business.

What I can’t believe is that you got new truck parts in and you didn’t open the box and stare at them. Even if you weren’t gonna install right away. I can never contain my excitement and have to open um up and pretend I have time etc.. not blaming you for their mistake, but in the future, you could check them immediately.

I learned this lesson the hard way with ring and pinion Yukon gears for my ex’s JLU. Wrong ones.. but didn’t try to have them installed for about nine months, and ended up in a similar situation as you.. lesson learned.

You ordered "custom color" painted parts then you waited six months to open them?? Sorry your loss. Take this life lesson and your parts to a local shop and get them painted the color you want, on your dime!

Or as someone has already suggested...maybe the subtle contrast will grow on you!

I always open up new parts as soon as they come in as well regardless if I'm going to install them right away or not. I could see if it was six weeks but six months? I'd have to say that's on you. I can also imagine your CC company questioning why you're asking for a charge back 6 months later. Best of luck!

As a business owner this is my policy as well. I open every part as soon as I receive them whether by mail or at the store. I have made the mistake in years gone by of not looking at parts quick enough that I pre-ordered for a job and got burned. Live and learn.

Idk man I think you really can’t be that mad at the company. I’m sure if it was a little more than the 30 days and you tried to exchange MAYBE they’d do it but almost half a year later is a long time.

My suggestion would be try reselling them locally or bite the bullet and pay the shipping back. If you do exchange it and you speak to customer service or whatever try to see if they’d offer you a coupon code or something, but you can’t put all the fault on the company.

it’s the holidays, maybe you’ll talk to someone in a giving mood. No need for a stand off.
