The moment everyone has been waiting for!
Here are some photos of it prepped and "sealed". Hope y'all LOVE it.

Gotta scuff it up so it sticks nicely. (Harder to see on the scoop, but I've included it anyways.)




Now, you gotta seal with a kiss, so it will last forever. (I personally don't like the term forever, because technically nothing lasts forever right? But it will last you a long long time.)

Base coats! White, Black and I believe it's Silver/Gray (I can't remember all y'alls order. Sorry!) Soon, I'll get photos of the shiny clear coat.



We got these photos because they were all getting painted the same day, but it doesn't always work out like that. But for sure, I'll continue photo updates of the "Super White - 040" hood.

Hope everyone liked the updates! Will update again as soon as I get more photos.

While waiting for update I started preparing for things to remove from old hood by making a note of where stuff is routed and clipped in to make sure it all goes back in same spots on the new hood. There's not a lot of parts so this will be an easy swap.

What are these parts marked with Orange arrows? Guards? Spacers? Everyone have these? And do they simply just snap off/on? Asking to avoid unnecessary breaking anything and find out if they're reusable or not.


Orange: ???

Red: rubber protector/seal

Purple: 2 end lines off the washer water lines

Blue: 5 clips holding the main washer water line

Green: support, not removing, just laying it down

Yellow: 4 bolts securing hood to hinges

Does the black one have a metallic paint. Like it has glitter in it? A close up picture of my black hood.

 

Yes! My Camry is paint code 218 and there are a lot of sparkles.

I know it's just the base coat, but i can't stop looking at my new hood!!

 

I'm waiting on the clear coat photos, but I haven't gotten them yet. Probably will get them Monday. But if all goes well and they pass QC early next week, then you guys could get your hoods early! But next Friday is Friday the 13th, so maybe we'll hold off shipping. (Just kidding.)

 

If the frieght drivers name is Jason I'm refusing the the delivery . (also kidding... maybe)
