Northern Virginia... It's in the 30s, and windy, so it feels like the 20s...

@brendanwebster911 got my kit the other day, install went great, I gotta say, the directions you included were way better quality and detail than the ones a lot of companies put in with their products! Thanks for a super easy install.

Mine came today as well. Thanks for the speedy shipping. I'm gonna wait for a warmer day to install - just to make sure the dash isn't brittle. (Not to mention I hate being cold!)

Ever want to turn on the rear camera when you aren't going in reverse (w/o switching to reverse)? This kit does that:)

Yep, examples include: pulling through a spot in a parking lot, or street parallel parking with the spot behind you open(*). It's simpler than shifting in and out of reverse to make sure you're not ASSHOLE PARKING with your tail over the line.

(*) specifically I frequently park where the street parking has paint on the pavement and no meters to indicate the parking spots.

Another use case is if you have a tall load in the bed and can't see out the back, use the camera to see behind you.

BTW I performed my installation with great success! Thanks for this great kit @brendanwebster911

Amazon have a camera for sell that will fit the toyota emblem in the front. So can you make the kit for the front? You know when you press the button it show the front? I think it would be more helpful for me, because I want to see how much closer I can get when going in front to park instead of backing in to park. thnks.

That's a whole different ballgame than this reverse camera mod.

It's possible, but, selling a "kit" for it would be very hard. And install would be pretty tedious

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Warmed up nicely today... I had the day off to go get my skid plates installed. When I got home from the skid install, I did the backup camera mod. Nice kit, worked perfectly, instructions very straight forward - with one minor exception....

I have a Sport, so I have no rear light switch to tap for illumination. You might want to include some info on an add-a-tap to the dash light power circuit so that folks without the switch know how to get the illumination circuit correctly connected. (Which I had already done for other switches, so I just chained the new switch in)

Forgive me if it's already in there, I quit reading them at that point, because I already had the add-a-tap.

Overall - GREAT JOB ON THE KIT! Thanks!

The write ups are constantly evolving. The newest version includes numerous illumination sources for those that do not have the cargo switch! I didn't even realize not all Tacomas had the cargo switches!

Thanks for the heads up though! Trying to always improve
