It's very easy, all you need to install is a pair of wire strippers (or your teeth), 10mm socket, and a lighter/heat gun to shrink the included shrinkwrap tubing.

    Hey Brendan,

How difficult is it to setup the reverse camera switch, where one of my missing OEM switches are under the display? Also, how far does the toggle switch stick out?

It's very easy as long as you can follow some instructions included in the kit!The switch is an OEM style switch. It sticks out exactly as far as the rest of the switches.

The navigation and reverse sensing wire are on the 28 pin harness, Yes.

You will still need to tap a 12VDC source, illumination source, and ground.

Thanks for the quick answer. I have a bussmann RTMR setup right now and a switch panel with 12vdc running to it off an add-a-fuse in the cab.

What do you mean by illumination source? Like the switch LED?

Illumination source will either be ran from your interior fuse box under "panel" or another lighted switch. It's to allow the switch backlight to operate along with the rest of the switches.

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
Placing my order tomorrow ( payday ). $50.oo pkg. with a switch for the cubby ( left side of steering wheel) I have a 2 switch panel..
so hopefully you know which switch I need.
    thanks

I'm assuming you have a panel from shapeways? Most commonly they are the "tall skinny" ones. But, I have seen those accommodate the other size switch.

Working with aftermarket switch plates are usually more of a gamble. Do you have a photo of the switch plate you can send me so I can be sure on which specific switch you need?

Here's the switch & panel. Yes from Shapeways.

    Yep!

You have the standard "tall skinny" switches! That won't be a problem!

I just found the switch # I used for my bumper light - CH4x4-TOY-TACS2BLLB2-R.
Hope that helps to figure out which 1. - also if we can go with a red back light.

oh, I did take out that shitty round red 1... that was the original switch that came with my light bar.... but I changed it to the 1 next to it... I just didn't have it wired yet when I took this pic.
    Thanks again.

will this kit work for tacoma's that do not have the bigger of the two head unit options?? I still have the rear camera in my truck, but the radio is the smaller of the two displays that I have seen available with the 3rd gens. I am very interested in getting this now that it is available again. Just curious. Please and thank you!
