Does anyone have any suggestions for quality reverse cameras that mount in the tailgate handle like the stock cameras? I'm planning on picking up a PNL tailgate handle to mount it in. I've seen some that come with the PNL handle, but they seem overpriced.

I have an aftermarket radio to install in my truck. My truck is a 2008, so it's not wired for a camera. I'm looking for one that can be tapped into the reverse light for power.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

That Crutchfield camera is expensive AF for a basic ass handle and camera.

The options at the other site are better priced for sure. I want to run the electric PNL handle, so I may just get one of the cheaper ones from that site and take the camera out of it.

I just bought a $99 tailgate handle from Amazon and the camera is shite. It's better than the one I had before but still bad. If you find a good one let us know.

Just thought that I would bump my thread and give an update.

I ordered a standard PNL for the truck and their camera bracket. I also ordered a Crimestopper CAM-300. It's a universal camera that comes with a number of mounting options.

The camera comes with 4 different mounts (flush, angle, rubber, and square) My first thought was that the angle mount would do the trick, but it's too low profile. It could be made to work, but either the camera bracket would need modifying or some sort of spacer between the mount and bracket would need to be made. My next thought was the square mount because it has a seperate foot that allows it to be angled. Luckily, it looks like it will work perfectly. The square mount seats itself in the camera opening nicely and the adjustable foot presses against the camera bracket when it is installed. The square mount foot came with 3M tape installed, so I'll use that to attach the camera to the bracket, and may see if I drill a couple small holes for a self tapping screw or two.

Here's how the square mount fits.
