I’m looking to install a camera as well. Where/how did you run the cable to the back of the truck?

From tailgate, run the cable along the top of the frame, zip tie-ing along the way, and there’s a rubber grommet under the drivers side seat with a bundle of factory wires that you can squeeze through into the cab. From there just along the plastic door sill , kick panel and under dash to HU.

I ran mine from behind the bumper next to the tow light wiring harness over to the driver side of the truck along the frame and just wherever made the most sense to keep it high and out of the way with zip ties. I ended up coming into the cab through an unused grommet under the carpet behind the driver seat(at least in the double cab) and then under all the plastic trim covers by the door over to the kick panel. I had to cut a + shape in the grommet to squeeze the RCA connector through. Once I was done I used silicone to seal around the cable both under the truck and under the carpet on the grommet to prevent water from coming in. I used a bolt up behind the taillight for a ground, you will more than likely need to extend the wire that comes on the RCA harness for the ground and also the 12v for the kick panel.

I'm getting ready to add a Dasaita head unit and a rear view camera in my 07 Taco. I bought the 2nd gen tailgate handle with the camera port. Can anyone tell me where Toyota brings the cable out of the tailgate on later 2nd gens?

There’s a square hole in the bottom of the tailgate on the later tailgates. Since yours is a ‘07, it doesn’t have it. There’s a square rubber piece molded to the wires that fits that hole.

Thanks Muddinfun, I have a set of Rotabroach cutters from my aircraft days, just have to find the correct size grommet and I will be good. Doesn't matter since I have to make my own, but is that on the passenger side?
    Much appreciated!
