Hey guys, I got some flush mount LED lights for the back bumper of my 19. Got them mounted up all nice to my standards. I went to tap them in from the 7 pin and read something online that said the purple wire was my reverse lights. I spliced into the purple and it's actually brake lights. Does anyone know what color the reverse light wire is on the factory 7 pin?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
What I would do, but OSHA wouldn't recommend it:
    - Assuming it's an auto ...
    - Put it into reverse, engine running.
    - set the parking brake hard.
    - rig an test light, ground one wire.
    - poke the other wire into various contacts in the trailer receptacle.
    - when the test light comes on, you've got the correct contact.
The center contact should be your back-up lights.
Use this method at your own risk.

That's the easy part. The backs are a little offset from the front

    Disconnect the T12
    De-pin the terminal
Carefully remove the terminal from wire
Add smaller gauge wire (extra length)
    Crimp both to new terminal
    Insert into T12
    Mate T12
tie/secure the wires to harness and at new connection LED's. No flopping around.:burp:

Anything special about that 280 series Metripack? Just a regular 280 it looks like (10-12g)?

Nothing special, just as you've noticed, larger gauge.

Cool. Learn something new everyday :) I knew those were Delphi, but I guess I never realized they were 280 series.
