Well true but obviously you have to swap LED reverse lights if adding reverse pods. Otherwise they won’t match.

A few mods here and there and counting....
Measured twice, cut once. I had to mount it farther out due to the proximity sensors the previous owner had installed on there. Bright and functional.

Helps to have extra hands and eyes. We used a template as well as measuring 5 times at least.

I used Chassis Saver on the bare metal it works good. I used the yellow one with the Camaro it's more flat black, but they all work well.

Not that much? It is 3.5x+ brighter. Did you order the exact HIR bulbs specifically mentioned in the thread, or did you get the low performing 35w halogen bulbs from a hardware store that everyone uses? The HIRs are over 2x brighter.

Man...you guys are going to be the death of me....I wanted to do this for a while but have avoided it due to the risk of rust. Has anyone had them on for a while in a snowy/salty climate that can comment about rust forming?

I tried adding some lights below the bumper like someone in the thread did, but broke them off when going off-roading & trying to clear a large dip.

Just spray some clear coat over the exposed metal or some type of anti corrosion spray. I didn't do either other than a make shift gasket because NorCal. =D

I used the exact link to buy them on Amazon. They are extremely bright when looking at them, but are defiantly not 3.5x brighter when shining out behind me.

Scientifically they are spec’d about 3.5x brighter by reputable manufactures and confirmed to be so with a lux meter.

    But to each their own.

Good reverse pods have more potential than the 1720 lumens offered by the gy6.35 HIRs.

I cut mine and threw them right in. That was probably a year ago,no rust yet!

Depending on how recent you followed the other thread, last month it was noticed Osram released an HIR more powerful than the previously sought after Philips. And Osrams are available domestically, unlike Philips.

Of course we quickly depleted Amazon of their supply.
