try to find a cree center LED (projects far) and a side array (lights the ground and sides)

I have just regular CREE led reverse lights....While the distance on them is awesome (I can see across the street onto neighbors garage door from my driveway very easy), they SEVERELY lack "spread".

I need to buy a set like I was talking about.... cree center and regular SMD arrays.

if they dont have an array on the outside, and u can cancel the order and get a center smd or center cree with an array along the outside, i highly suggest doing so.

but, its ur money............i hope it works out for ya

    what did u order?

I put LED reverse lights and I am not impressed. Pretty bummed actually. I would really like to see some part numbers/mfgs of LEDs that people are happy with.

this has been my experience with reverse light LEDs. if your looking for brightness, LEDs just arent going to give the you intensity and beam spread you need.

like the guy above this post said, you can put in halogens. but use them with caution, dont go leaving the truck in reverse for extended periods of time im sure they could melt the housing if left on. I used halogen back up lamps on my last truck and wouldnt hesitate to use them on my tacoma. but i played the LED game for several months and $$$ and was never happy...

My experiance with LED lights is they all suck for reverse lights. Especially when using reverse cams, the cool kelvin range "color" light doesn't work well IMO. I went with 886's and couldn't be happier. No issues over a year later.

Another one for the 886 fog light mod. I've had mine in about 4 years now and zero issues. Don't know if this helped me or not, but I've also got factory tow package, so I'm not sure if my wiring is beefed up or not. I don't leave my truck in reverse that long anyway.

I also had some Hella FF75's laying around doing nothing, so I mounted those on my rear bumper using existing holes. Used a relay to activate them when the reverse lights come on, now I can see down my street when backing up, not just across the street!

When you say "cut the 886" what do you mean exactly?
