I’ve done some searching but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for so I’m hoping someone could tell me which is the wire for the reverse lights on a 2012 that goes hot when you shift into reverse. If possible, I would like to tap into this wire somewhere in the kick panel area near the fuse box to power the relay I’m installing for an additional set of backup lights.

    Thanks.

Looks like I found it in another post... here it is in case anyone is looking for it. As you can see in the picture it is by the fuse panel. I'm going to test it out today.

Glad to have stumbled upon this. I'm putting on an ATO rear bumper with a set of flush mount Duallys. Still not sure if I want them piggy backed on the stock back ups or seperately switched. I guess both would be cake and eating it too. I'm no electrical engineer, is this possible?

From what I've read, you can't 100% piggyback off stock back-up lights. Read this thread, I found it extremely helpful and I am going to go this way: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/li...reverse-lights-switch-preexisting-lights.html

Found the/a wire to tap into for a spdt switch for a reverse hot wire for my 2005. The red one with white strips in pic:
