Hey guys, I am installing a set of 4" LED pod lights in my bumper that I want wired into my reverse lights as well as on a switch on my dash. How would I wire them up for both? I really hate to say I have an AS electrical engineering degree and can't seem to wrap my head around it... Thanks!

Assuming you are wiring them up using a relay, take the trigger wire from the relay and tap in into the reverse lights, and to the in-daash switch, this way if either are activated, the relay is energized and the pods have power.

Tap into the reverse wire and send that to a switch. That's how I did it. They can either be On, off, or on w/reverse lights

He couldn't figure out the basic wiring and you want him to use a relay and a remote switch. Iam subbing for the out come.
Op take the time to understand what you are doing. Trace the power on the schematic if you have to. :fingerscrossed:. Good luck with install.

Can you elaborate more on your wiring? Is your switch SPDT? What relay are you running? I googled your UJDAD66B without results

I did this mod on my sons truck. I stayed away from the in cab switch because it's to tempting to turn it on when someone is tailgating you or you just want to blind you buddy's on the way to a party. If the police get involved with that it's a big fine. So to prevent a smack down I did not install the cab switch.

Figured his pods came with the generic 1 relay wiring kit. If so, just need to run the trigger wire to both the switch and reverse circuit.

It's just a DPDT switch with independent back lights. They are rated for 20 amps so I didn't use a relay since my reverse LEDs draw less than 5 amps.

I would want the lights for backing and having light back there for trailering as well. Didn't even think about blinding some asshole tailgater.
