I have an 09 TRD off road and had a wicked clunk from reverse to drive. It also clunked when coming to a stop. I replaced all three U Joints and carrier bearing on the rear drive shaft and found that the center U joint was completely blown up. The needle bearings fell out like dust. After completing this job the clunk noise is completely gone both when going from reverse to drive as well as coming to a stop. Hope this helps
