Decided I would like to have a more secure option for storing "items" in my truck. Even if you aren't into firearms, its a great way to secure items such as a wallet or cell phone while at the beach etc.

    They offer a couple options:
    - key
    - 3 Combo lock
    - 4 Combo lock

I ended up with the 3 combo lock as I don't feel that having more than 1000 combinations is more secure nor do I want to have to fumble/lose a key if I need to open it.

    Install requires 2 tools:
    - a long phillips screwdriver (to install)
    - 10mm socket with extension (to remove factory bolts)

    Directions:
    1. Remove carpet from center console
    2. Remove two 10mm bolts from center console with ratchet
    3. Insert console vault
    4. Use screwdriver to tighten down provided 10mm screws

    Notes
    - It is a little bit of a tight fit, but it fits with a little push.
    - Although it doesn't show on the site, it has a hole for the 12V outlet.

Does the cap for the 12v outlet get removed when you installed the vault? Or does it pass through and get reused?

The factory console has a groove for an iphone cable or something like that to run through when the cover is closed. How does that work with the vault? Also how thick is the vault? Does it reduce the available storage space much?
