I have an 08 Access Cab TRD Off Road. Is there the TSB for this model? How do I find it and print it out?

Also I bought my Tacoma used. How do I find out if this has already been done?

If this seems to be a problem for Toyota year after year, why did they not just put on the upgrade from the beginning when they were building these things?

$ ! If they save $1 per truck and make a 1,000,000 trucks they save $1,000,000 IMHO

Another idea. These trucks are not your old time work truck. Look at all the nice-ah-T's we have and then add more. Most are used as a car, daily driver, sometimes we put some tools or a bike in them on the weekend, and they ride like a car, not like a truck. Add a spring and the ride gets like a truck, stiff w/o a load, rides better with a load then M.T. Maybe that is what they are after.

The dealer I talked to said that I need to put a heavy load in it, then bring it in so that a tech can ride with me to see if we can duplicate the "harsh ride." Is that the norm? Or do I need to try a different dealer?

I found my TSBs on this site. If your year/model qualifies for a TSB, there is no reason for a dealer to give you a hard time. They get paid by Toyota to perform TSBs. I have had three major TSBs performed without a question. I had the TSBs in hand and my dealer, Beaver Toyota, didn't even look at them, they knew what I was talking about and scheduled an appointment. Independent mechanics and this website saved me thousands in identifying TSB/warranty work - most recently my mechanic spotted a leak in the r/rear axle that saturated the brake drum. At 40k miles, I still love my truck, but honestly I have never needed this much TSB/warranty work on a vehicle.

Just got my taco back after getting the rear TSB done! Don't notice a difference in the ride.

    .

I have a 2009 DCSB, TRD, OR, 4x2 and had the rear spring TSB done 2 weeks ago.

The difference is super so far and it raised the rear very little ... handles better too.

Is there anything that i could print out to show the dealership this TSB?

    05 TRD sport 4x4
    TSB# SU006-07 - 05-06 Tacoma 4x4 & PreRunner: Rear Spring Harsh Ride
(this allpies to my truck right?)

Just called the dealer and they took my VIN and said that it didnt apply to my truck. The guy said that it only applies to a thousand or so trucks.

You could always do what I did. Since I have a lift on my truck, my local stealership wouldn't fix the springs. So, I purchased a used set of TSB springs and replaced them myself. Its been great so far.
Currently, I have the TSB springs, the add-a-leaf spring that comes with the FabTech 6" lift, and a ToyTec Alcan Add-a-leaf. This setup has worked very well, and the ride is not harsh at all. Now, I don't rock crawl with this setup, so I'm not concerned about flex or compression. I'm more concerned about being able to carry a load and not bottom out.

    .Hey TW-
Just to let you know, i just brought my 2010 double cab sr5 4x4 back to the dealer. They did a test run with a loaded 55 gallon drum in the bed, went over some speed bumps, and it bottomed out. So, all they need now is the approval from there Honolulu office to send in the new springs. They also did that to my '09 access cab. So, even though the TSB says up to 2008 (i believe), I'm got it done on my '09, and hopefully on my 2010. will keep u guys posted. Aloha

Unfortunately you are past the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty period.

I got my TSB done yesterday at Toyota of Des Moines and I can't say enough good things about them. There was no discusion when I brought up the TSB to the service rep, he just said I'm familiar with that, I'll order the parts today and when do you want to bring it in. I dropped it off before work yesterday and they gave me a ride to work and picked me up in front of my building after work and drove me back to the dealership. They swapped the leaf pack, and did a front end allignment, and without asking they put 2 new wipers on, washed and vacumed the truck, topped off the wiper fluid and aired all the tires. No charge for any of it. If there is anyone out there in the Des Moines area go to Toyota of Des Moines.......they rule!

On your next visit please ask them if they would open a dealership in North Jersey. Thank you. This will be a great help to us Taco owners in North Jersey. :D
