I installed a set of OME Dakar leaf springs about 4 years ago and they have already sagged quite a bit and are kind of fanning out. My question is if I take them out, add a leaf, and reclamp them will it add some rigidity back or should I just rock them and replace the whole leaf pack down the road? I've already added a clamp in front of the axle and it has helped a bit with axle wrap but not with the sag. I'll add some pics later

Having them re-arched at a spring shop is also an option if everything else is in decent shape.

I recently added the OME extra leaf, it did bring the whole pack back to life. FYI you might need longer u bolts

Thanks for the input this is good to know. I'm thinking add the leaf to make it more robust for the future and maybe re-arch them as well if needed.

Only drawback for me was that the OME extra leaf does not have holes for the anti squeal pads. If I had to do it again I would drill out some holes for the pads.

Noted. Is it just the noise that is the issue or is it doing damage to the spring?

Just squeaky, I hit it with lube periodically. No damage.

How sagged out was yours or were you just preemptively adding for weight?

I have a swing out bumper with spare tire carrier and a SnugTop shell. They were almost flat. Now they have a nice arch to them

Damn I thought mine were bad. I have a Leer camper, a sleeping platform, and sometimes bikes on the back. I even removed the factory spare to save weight lol
