I have a 2015 with the 4.0 and during shifts there is a delay between when the throttle is released and when the revs begin to fall. The revs will even go up when clutch is depressed if you had the the throttle open or nearly wot. The truck is drive by wire and since it idles perfect its hard to think it a tps or mass air issue. No codes. I did clean the mass air. No change. I really did search to see if this topic has been addressed. So if i missed a,previous post please. Link. Any help from someone who has experienced or resolved this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I see you have a second gen.

Good ole revhang. Its there for emissions purposes

Its been tamed in the 3rd gen when driving nornally and happens less often, but when it does happen (mid throttle, around 4k) its infuriating.

Toyota prodducts with drive by wire from the second gen taco era had horrendous rev hang, exactly as you describe. The revs even rise slightly when clutched.

I have comfirmed this in both in an FJ cruiser that i test drove, and my own lexus is300. Both have rev hang up the ass.

3rd gen is not as bad, but still there are times.

Hopefully, OV tune can do his work on second gens as well. An upcomming update should completely kill it for us turd gens.

Throttle by wire is the cause, just drive and you wont even notice it after awhile.
