I want to put LED work lights on my daughter's Land Cruiser - on the roof rack - so that they can be used for bright "scene" lights for max visibility, or softer camp setup/party lights when you don't need much light. As near as I can tell, 12v rheostats are commonly available, but I see zilch about using them for this purpose. There is one video on YouTube about putting a rheostat on a 50" light bar, and it works, but it's a home made solution you have to buy from some individual.

Is this harder than it seems or am I missing something? Thanks
