I started driving in 2000 when I was 16 so this wasn't that far back.

Yeah you’re about 5-6 years back, 2000 was when it got mainstream.

    Spacers. Spacers everywhere.
I'm a fan of the AWD and RWD imports, not so much the FWD slow pokes.

Seems to me the AWD and RWD drivers have enough loot and common sense to have a nice sporty vehicle, and not clutter it up with horrific body mods and no go-fast mods.

FWD non-turbo ass clowns, are, well, ass clowns...$0.02

Less is more in most cases.

I once owned a turbo AWD Talon, domestic rice, AWD burnouts and super tight donuts, so fun.

My favorite part was other ricers. While I had my RX7 I had so many ricers try to race me in their crappy little slow cars. I'd be at a light and all of a sudden I'd get a rev thrown at me. What for? I'd take off slow from the light while the ricer was bouncing off of the limiter and shift into 2nd at about 3000 RPM then mash it until about 5000 RPM then skip 3rd and go for 4th. I'd be way ahead of them from that burst of speed in 2nd. ***All of this happened on a closed road in Mexico of course.*** FWD cars can be fast but most of those aren't street legal.

Im into imports but would never consider me and my friends old rides "rice"

I used to own a 1990 Eclipse GSX... the only exterior mod you could see was a loud ass muffler. and that fooled everyone. Little did anybody know that the fartcan was attached to 3" exhaust piping connected to a downpipe connected to a fat daddy turbo. Plus all the suporting mods and built motor :D Needless to say just about every camaro, mustang, trans am, etc that pulled up to me at the light thought they had me because I was a little 4cyl with a fartcan. and they would try. :)

*Post edited to remove street racing stories... but you get the idea of what they had coming to them

now Im trying to save up enough money to buy an unmodded Evo9 one day... and let the fun all start over again.

this is my old car. Bought it from my friend for $1400 bucks, i gutted the inside, new paint job, wheels tires and an engine swap. Never wanted to do the spoiler or body kit.

this is what it looked like when i bought it

this is during all my paint prep

this is after i primered it

    and after i painted it

also swapped the old stock engine for the b16 jdm. That gave it a little more power.

i loved that car. It handled very well, got great mpg, and it was pretty quick. It was not the fastest car on the road by any means, but still a good car. I shoulda never sold it.

I miss my 8000 RPM blender. It was a 93 touring 5 speed. The other cars where part of my club.

Man this reminds me of one of my ex co-worker. He would try to race every sports car he sees during lunch then try to get their phone number to talk about cars later on. What’s unbeliever able it is that they actually gaves him their number!! I used to drive a pretty riced out 2000 Celica (the shame, sorry I was young :D ) and I get dudes trying to hit me up all the time. I’d either ignore them or give them the wtf look and go on with my business. I don’t know how many times I would pull in to a gas station and some dude would follow me in and start talking to me. I guess I was never really in to it......
