I've been planning to ditch a wedding at the beach for this trip.
Honestly, with the weather being much better at the beach, I'm now 50/50. If I come, I would meet at the Gastonia QT Saturday morning at most likely camp Saturday night.

Also @ahspurlock and others not familiar with the Area, I recommend download an offline map of Boone to Lenoir. Use the map on the 1st page to judge what you need. I know you can do it on Android with Google Maps, iphone/Apple Maps folks you're on your own.

 

I'll have a nice comfy place to take a crap in the morning, though.

 

Brown mountain ohv

 

There will be night wheeling at Brown OHV!

The address to Brown Mountain OHV is: 1610 Brown Mountain Beach Rd, Morganton, NC 28655.
There is no cell service there. From there to the Walmart in Lenior its about a 25 minute drive so we won't have to wake up super early on Saturday morning.

Passes for Brown are $5 and can be purchased across from the entrance, BRING CASH, not sure if they take CC. ALSO the store that sells the passes closes around 7PM, so if you know you are coming but won't make it there by 7PM let someone know so they can get you a pass.

There are 3 camp areas at Brown, anyone of them can hold 5 vehicles. I plan on getting there around 5pm to save stake out a camp spot.

 

Well, something's come up, family matters. I wont be making this trip.
