How to make temporary smoke headlights.

    1) Wipe baby oil on both headlights.
    2) With black spray paint, carefully dust said headlights to your desired darkness.
    3) Done....stand back and admire.

Kind of the same logic with smoked tail lights. It's harder to see at night making them less functional to me. It's just for personal style.

In Hawaii people love to lift their trucks super high with giant wheels. It's not very functional and I've seen some almost tip over taking a turn a bit fast (wheels lifting). Whatever people can get away with that makes it look cool to them people will do.

I had the covers for one of my cars. They first attached via velcro, then later designs clipped on. I had to take them off at night, or it was like driving with only parking lights on.

I always thought that one whould have to have manure for brains to neuter their ability to see when driving, or just as importantly, be seen, from those following the meatheads who do this.

I am also shocked that it would not be a violation to voluntarily alter ones venicle in a manner which makes it less safe, and i would also think that it would let insurance companies who cover the dumb ass's off the hook when they are in an accident.

I cannot imagine it wouldn't be a violation or a fail on a state inspection.

Here in MA, at least by the letter of the law you cannot modify any existing lights or add to them. I forget the exact wording, but an example..

When the CHMSL came out and was required in new vehicles, my friend's brother bought one and installed it in his 1983 Oldsmobile Delta 88. He was rejected for inspection because it wasn't OEM on the vehicle. No I'm not kidding.

I'm assuming one would probably remove those covers before getting an inspection. :notsure:

In the case of the smoked covers, sure. My friend's brother never expected that adding that 3rd brake light would be an issue and who could really argue with that?

I had tinted headlights on my Tacoma when I purchased it. Looks awesome but sucks for light output

Back in the 80's I made headlight covers that were color matched to the paint on my car, but they were removable, so there was no issue with light output. I did get pulled over a few times by the police, but as soon as I showed them they were only held on with Velcro, our conversation was over....

I put the tinted headlights in same category as tinted windshields..... To each his/her own. It's just not for me.

I assume squatting the rear suspension impacts the safety value of the headlights significantly due to the angle. Have never understood it for that reason.

It’s perfect for anyone who wants to see their hood instead of the road, and shine their headlights directly in everyone’s eyes.
