I installed a DV8 front bumper last week and now I feel like I can feel every bump in the road. Added about 175 lbs I've read a ton about upgrading shocks and springs I just cant get a clear answer as what to do. I need to lift front end a bit. Adjustable 5100's with stronger springs? Which springs? Does anybody sell a coil over assembled? Thanks

Tons of lift kits, but yes adding 175lbs on the front is going to lower your frontend and give your current spring/shock combo less travel. Short answer is yes it'll ride rougher. On the bright side you just justified getting a lift kit! I love my accutune setup, but it is one of the more pricey kits.

Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road...5100s with a spring is one sure way to go and she can help. They sell them with the spring and top-hat assembled & compressed, but you’ll have to know which setting when you order.

Whats your opinion on 2886(650lb) ome or comparable spring with 5100 Bilsteins? i feel like if i just put on a front lift/level with same rated spring, it will compress spring and i'll have same ride with a level truck. On the other hand I've read the OE spring rating is 550lb(conflicting reports on OE spring rating), which would make the 2888 spring an upgrade, and stay at a favorable price when paired with 5100's. Ive read about this till im insane, and im no closer to knowing what I need. Not really excited about adding a bumper and then having to add 1300$ worth of lift and suspension. Trying to keep this in the 500$ range.

I have a double cab shortbed sport with 5100s all around, Eibach 620lb springs set for 2.5" on the 5100s, and a US Offroad Stealth bumper (steel) with a Warn VR-8 Synthetic winch. I find this to be appropriate height and stiff enough so the nose dive during breaking is not problematic.

There is ALWAYS a compromise when modifying a stock vehicle. Many owners end up going down a slippery slope during ownership. Adding a 175 pound aftermarket bumper is a perfect example (ride quality suffers).

5100’s are not valved for heavy vehicles. They are great on stock trucks. You need either nitrochargers with 886 springs or coilovers. I just went through the same ordeal and ended up jumping in on headstrong’s group buy they have going on.

    What about 6120s and 5160s?
